Artemis is an online database wherein you can locate book reviews. There are several ways to search for book reviews in this database, but here's directions for the simplest way. Follow the steps below.
STEP 1: Access Artemis here: http://steenproxy.sfasu.edu:2048/login?url=http://go.galegroup.com/ps/start.do?p=GLS&u=txshracd2557. Note that if you are off-campus, you will be asked to login with your SFA username and password.
STEP 2: Once in the database, click on the Advanced Search button.
STEP 3: On the Advanced Search screen, type in the title of a book with quotation marks. Then, change the adjacent dropdown menu to Name of Work. Here's an example using the book The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
STEP 4: Scroll down on the Advanced Search screen and look for the section under More Options labeled By Document Type. In the dropdown menu, select Book Review. Then, click the Search button.
STEP 5: When the list of results show up, click on the View All link next to the Reviews & News heading; this expand the list of results. Note that not every entry will be relevant to what you want; that's the nature of research. You'll need to skim through the results to find the entries that you can use.
